Week 1

I plan to focus on being grateful for the things in life that bring me joy. I have been having knee problems for several weeks culminating in a very swollen and painful knee. So bad that I was having problems walking especially stairs. I went to a new knee specialist who was fantastic. Dr. Kellum was kind and patient while he explained that I had arthritis in my knee and that my knee was very angry at me! He proceeded to drain 20ccs of fluid from my knee and give me a shot of cortisone. The relief was instant!

I am extremely grateful that I am able to go to the doctor and find relief for my pain. My yoga instructor would always have us thank our legs for being there for us. I always felt silly, however, now I am grateful for my legs and the fact that I can walk without pain!

The book I am reading is called The Grateful Diaries by Janice Kaplan. Terrific book!
